World Cup Strikers:
Capello is probably going to choose 4 strikers for the World Cup (posibly 5)
and the main candinates are Carlton Cole, Heskey, Rooney, Defoe, Bent, Owen, Agbonlahor and Crouch.
As long as Rooney is fully fit he is a certainty. There is no way that England won't pick him. That leaves Owen, Crouch, Bent, Cole, Defoe, Agbonlahor and Heskey battling it out.
The strikers ranked:
1st: Obviously Rooney
2nd: Probably Crouch or Defoe
3rd: ditto
4th: Cole
5th: Bent
6th: Agbonlahor
7th: Heskey
8th: Owen
Danny Welbeck anyone? Jokes aside I really like Defoe's style of play. A mix of warrior and artist. Crouch is a little overated as he has only really scores against rubbish teams. It seems that he moves club every summer to whichever team Redknap is managing. If Redknapp moved to QPR, Crouch would soon follow. I wonder what club he'll move to next? Agbonlahor is a little to young and needs to get more goals at club level to really challenge for a place. Heskey? Please. I don't know what Capello sees in him. If he ever scores again for England, (highly unlikely) he'd go into shock and need treatment. Picture the scene. Semi-final against Spain. England go out on penalties after Heskey squanders their only chance. Help. I would much prefer Carlton Cole to Heskey. Owen needs to play more games for Man-u before he can truly challenge for England again. Darren Bent has a good record but needs to move to a bigger club. Last World-Cup, Svenn picked a semi-fit Rooney and Owen. A 17 year old Walcott and Peter Crouch. Pathetic.
